Hello. I’m a Chilena Brit, optimist, webby person and civil servant for the UK Department for International Development, writer, editor, filmlover, aspiring geek, humanitarian and wine drinker.
This is my personal site. I write it in my spare time and maintain it at my own expense.
Though I may occasionally talk about my work, this is not a corporate nor a political blog and the opinions and ideas expressed here are absolutely my own, not those of my employers.

Hi Marisolly,
My name is Felicity McLean, I work with the ERM Foundation – a charitable organisation investing in grass roots, low carbon energy enterprises in developing countries. I was browsing some images of solar technology last week and came across an image form your solar stories blogpost – an image of a Nepali (?) girl standing on a rock with a solar panel in her hands. We would love to use this image in our communications/publications with external parties, as it is a fantastic representation of our Foundation – reducing energy poverty though low carbon technology.
What are the copyright issues surrounding this, and/or would you be happy for us to use this striking image in a publication to invite funding?
Do let me know, it’d be fantastic if we could collaborate here – naturally we would accredit the photograph to you or whomever ought to take the rights.
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Felicity McLean
Hi Felicity,
I’m so sorry that I didn’t see your comment before now. I haven’t checked the blog for so long. I’m sure it’s way too late, but the photographer Abbie Trayler Smith owns the copyright and she is represented by Panos – http://www.panos.co.uk
It would be great to find out more about your work though. We are now gearing up our work for the Cancun summit.
Cheers,
Marisol
